According to the Buddhism, it is believed that during time of Lord Deepankar , some people were constructing road and a visitor came to the construction site and asked to the workers about what they are doing. One of the worker replied him that they are constructing the road because Lord Deepankar is coming. By hearing this the visitor also wanted to contribute in this great work and be the part of Lord Deepankar's blessings.




While they were constructing the road, Lord Deepankar had already arrived in that site but the problem was the road was still incomplete. While going through the road, the road came to the end and after the road ends there was a large chunk of mud. So the visitor decide to lay down in the mud so that Lord Deepankar can pass through the mud by steeping on him. And while laying down, he wished to become like  Lord Deepankar and spread the knowledge throughout the world and take the world in the path of truth, love and peace. Lord  Deepankar was impressed and told to the visitor that after one lakh Kalpa he will be born in Shakyapur and will be known as Shakyamuni Buddha all over the world.

So, on 7th may(Buddha Jyanti) the person who was going to be Shakyamuni Buddha got blessed by Lord Deepankar.
